The Role
The company is looking to recruit a Senior Financial Systems Analyst to support and develop the company’s growing client base using ALM knowledge in conjunction with the ALMIS software application. This role provides an opportunity to help shape the future of the ALMIS solution as the role will be required to provide insight into developing ALM trends which assist the firm’s software development activities.

The successful applicant will come from a finance / management accounting background with both strong numeracy and financial systems skill sets. The candidate must have experience of using ALMIS and a keen interest in both finance and bank financial analysis. Additionally, the candidate will have good communication skills and be able to demonstrate knowledge of Bank Asset Liability Management and ALMIS.

Key aspects of the role would include:

  • Assist and support customers with their use of the ALMIS software, providing support, training and consultancy assistance
  • Assist customers with setting up and implementing ALMIS software
  • Assisting the software development process with input into the design of new modules and software enhancements, help developing appropriate testing plans and developing the new product release materials given to customers

This will be a client facing role and require an appreciation of a sophisticated financial model and MIS for financial management within the banking sector. The role/successful candidate can be based and operate from anywhere within the UK. The company’s office is based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The Candidate
Candidates for this role should be enthusiastic, articulate, intelligent, self-starters, who would relish the opportunity to work within a dynamic and growing company, where their contribution and experience can make a real difference and their opinions are listened to and valued.

Candidates must have relevant experience gained within a financial management and or banking environment and be able to demonstrate practical experience of developing internal finance reporting or modelling systems. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to grasp concepts of financial system design and the high-level concepts of financial risk management.

The candidate is likely to have extensive knowledge of both the regulatory requirements/expectations and industry practices for Financial Planning, Liquidity, Capital and IRRBB gained within a UK Financial Institution.

The candidate will need excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be able to communicate effectively with people of varied technical abilities and different seniority levels.

With several years of relevant experience, including using ALMIS the successful candidate will be qualified with a good degree in a finance or financial risk management discipline and have an enthusiasm for Financial Risk Management, the ALMIS product and enhancing its value to our customers.
